Zinnia
Zinnia is a graduate of the Maryland Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Bethesda and has a national certification from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. She has done advanced work in Pulse Reading and Five Elements acupuncture. Zinnia has certificates in Herbology, Advanced Acupuncture, and Essential Oils from the Chinatown Wellness Center in New York City. She has published at article on pain management in the Fall 2010 issue of “The American Acupuncturist.”
Besides her private practice, Zinnia teaches Mind Body Stress Reduction at the Center for Integrative Medicine in Washington. Zinnia also volunteers as an Acupuncturist at The Community Council for the Homeless at Friendship Place. She is the chair of the Legislative Committee of the Acupuncture Society of District of Columbia.
Besides her specialty in pain management, Zinnia works well with stress and the physical conditions that arise from stress. She uses essential oils extensively to treat.
Her personal practice of the Alexander Technique, yoga, qi gong and meditation has given her the energy and focus to live a multifaceted life. Zinnia has actively exhibited her visual art work in the DC area and written regulations for the Federal Government for 28 years.
Zinnia graduated from Bryn Mawr College and has an M.B.A. from University of Chicago.
Angela Gabriel
Angela Gabriel holds Master's degree in Biochemistry and Master's degree in Oriental Medicine. Angela studied Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine in New York College for Health Professions with a focus on Traditional Chinese medicine and Japanese Meridian Acupuncture. Angela is a NCCOAM Board Certified Diplomat of Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine and a licensed acupuncturist in D.C. and Maryland. Angela currently works at Attentive Dragon Acupuncture Clinic in D.C. and GW Center for Integrative Medicine. Angela's previous work experience has included participation in NIH-funded clinical research studies on acupuncture at Columbia University as well as running a private practice in NYC. Currently, she is doing advanced studies in Kiiko Matsumoto style of Japanese Acupuncture, holds a certificate in Essential Oils with Jeffrey Yuen, and actively participates in workshops on children and women's health.
Angela is a general practitioner who specializes in family and internal medicine. Angela can treat whole the family including pregnant women and children. She can safely alleviate unpleasant symptoms of pregnancy during all three trimesters, and tune the body for a healthy pregnancy and natural labor. In her work with children Angela incorporates Chinese medicine, dietary advice, pediatric herbal tinctures, homeopathy, essential oils, and Japanese pediatric Sho Ni Shin massage. Angela and Zinnia developed special treatment protocols to to treat scar tissue in order to resolve internal issues that can be caused by old scars.
Tiffany C. Hoyt
Tiffany received a Masters of Acupuncture from the Tai Sophia Institute in Laurel, Maryland, and has a Diplomat of Oriental Medicine from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). She has certificates in Chinese Herbal Medicine, Toyohari (Japanese, non-insertional acupuncture) and Facial Rejuvenation. Her specialty is dermatological conditions.
Tiffany lectures about many of the classic methods of self care found in traditional medicines. She sits on the Board of Directors of the North American Toyohari Association and is a member of the American Herbalists Guild. She has a black belt in kung fu and has been studying Tai Qi since 1996. She is licensed and practices in Maryland and the District of Columbia.
Tiffany has a B.S. From Georgetown in linguistics. She studied Semiotics at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Bologna, Italy. |
